Welcome to my new website

The French impressionist Edgar Degas once suggested that ‘art is not what you see, but what you make others see’, and it is with these words in mind that I have chosen to showcase an ancient medium on the most modern of means.

Six years on from my first innocent foray into cyberspace, I am delighted to finally launch the new Katie Pope Art website.

Brilliantly designed by Sonja Cresswell and built by the wonderful Sad Robot, the new-look katiepope.co.uk contains galleries that span my career, ranging from drawings sketched as a young art student to paintings still drying in the studio. From here on, these galleries will be the first place to view any freshly completed work.

For the first time, I now have an online shop from which I will be selling limited edition giclée prints of my paintings. The option to buy original work will follow in the near future with the possibility of further products in the new year.

Furthermore, there is a blog because that’s just what the world needs, eh? Another artist with a personal page, blowing your mind with their innovative insights and enthralling updates. I'm glad you agree.

And so I will be regularly updating this section with all the things I’ve seen, done, scribbled down and been inspired by while there will also be news of any upcoming exhibitions or publications I’m involved in.

If you enjoy my work, and are interested in knowing more about my creative process, then be sure to check in, and if you would like to discover more about my background, then visit my biography page where you’ll also find my CVartist’s statement and some kind words about me.

Keep track of my movements by joining the new Katie Pope mailing list, and for more of my ramblings, connect with me on any of the listed social network links.

Meanwhile, if you’d like to get in touch to discuss the purchasing or commissioning of any artwork, then please either email me or complete the available contact form

Finally, I’d like to thank everyone who has supported my progress – family, friends, admirers and critics – and a special note of gratitude to Allan Whyte for the many wonderful photographs he has supplied for use on this new website.

Let’s get started.
